The long collaboration has allowed the public to be sensitized to the importance of preserving the most threatened natural habitats, fundamental for the survival of numerous species. In particular, the wetland areas that the flamingoes inhabit represent an extraordinary reserve of biodiversity, offering refuge to many species of animals and guaranteeing essential ecosystemic services to humans as well. And the commitment of DoDo goes further: this year, action is concentrated on four strategic WWF Oases - Valle Averto, Lago di Burano, Laguna di Orbetello and Saline di Trapani - where these elegant birds find haven and nourishment. A commitment that is included with a wider work of management and conservation of the WWF Oases and that is celebrated during the Oasis Spring (until June 5th). In the Padule Oasis of Orti-Bottagone, recognized as a Regional Reserve and internationally important wetland according to the Ramsar Convention, DoDo finances the recovery of 370 meters of nature trails that allow observation of the flamingoes without disturbing them. A respectful and inclusive intervention profoundly linked to the territory, where ecotourism and conservation dance together.
